The origins of an idea.
The birth of an association is always a special moment, to be regarded with great respect for whatever reason comes to life,even if only for the deeper meaning that each assocciational drive represents.
Associate, first of all, means having the will to gather the own positive forces around a target in order to enhance it, make it grow and get appreciated,to disseminate its culture and principles.
The strength of an idea has animated an initial core of people who strongly believed in it, driven by great enthusiasm, aware of the deeper purposes, pioneers of a role that in Gavirate did not yet exist.
Going beyond the simple names, which we will further reveal, of those who founded the
DELEGATION OF GAVIRATE CRI
It is important to underline and emphasize the shared emotion when they found themselves together "as far back as February 15, 1983, gathered around a table to finalize the memorandum of the newborn Association.That way also the city of Gavirate had its own Red Cross location, initially located in the premises of the former school-a demolished building nowaday.
Certain individuals who have supported and strongly backed the creation of the Association deserve a special mention.
Dr. Romano Oldrini, then mayor of Gavirate,first CEO whom has held the position of Head of the Delegation of health of CRI for years.
Mr. Fazzini Reno, whose support, enthusiasm and faith have been present each and every day along with his wise words.
Mrs. Rosa Zarioli whom even today, every afternoon, steps into the office of our headquarters to provide her valuable contribution.
Mr. Giovanni Speziani first inspector VV.dS of the Gavirate section,who strongly wanted the birth of the Association.
And the list of persons is certainly not ended ...
The beginning was not easy,just few volunteers enroled.They are able to organize and cover shifts only during the weekends."Reinforcements"arrive from the CRI Varese committee to help respond to the requests for assistance interventions in the area.
And what of the first ambulances !?

The legendary Fiat 238, low roof and high roof, "on loan" from Varese and the other vehicle, a gift of the gaviratese people and AVIS.
The equipment and the medical kits on the ambulances are easily to be considered coming...out of luck!
The stick-bandage, useful tool to immobilize the limbs in cases of suspected fracture, in some cases is a cardboard or a plastic bag filled with sand!
And ... talk about uniform of order!
Volunteers wear a anorak in the winter and the white coat for the warmer months. Memorable, during a rescue, the output of a VdS with bermudas barely hidden by his shirt!
The first courses to recruit young talents are being organized. The number grows, the group is strengthened and again confirms the spirit of those who wanted its birth: a symbol that everyone can come close to,a significant commitment to ensure high standards of assistance.
The services performed are inreasing number, now all the week days have covered shifts and operational volunteers to respond to the numerous calls of help. The Delegation of CRI Gavirate is now fully operational, firm in its guiding principles, ready to respond to the calls of solidarity and assistance on its territory.
