The National Women's Committee of the Italian Red Cross is one of six members of the Italian Red Cross.
Another key role, as per art. 2 of the CNF Regulation is the continuing work of the component for the dissemination of the image and the principles of the Red Cross through its initiatives and access to the media.
The volunteers of the CNF support initiatives such as assistance at distance; hippotherapy; project heart;the dental ambulatory for the disabled offering home care for not transportable patients; the moral and material assistance to families of children or people with transplants or with cancer diagnosis;also in the pediatric oncology departments,offering them hospitality in special reception centers; helping terminally AIDS patients.
Many volunteers also participate in campaigns for the protection of human rights and life as has happened in the combat against the spread of landmines.
To meet the needs of the territory the volunteers follow an increasing number of first aid courses; monitor and head monitor, International Humanitarian Law, Health education, hospital care, assistance to the sick elderly,to the mother and child.
The National Women's Committee is always present,next to the civil defense units,in the CRI's interventions in case of national and international emergencies.
In order to achieve self-sufficiency the CNF sensitizes its members to pay the entry fee and also promots fundraisings. To this end the Departments are invited to organize charity events in order to obtain the necessary economic contributions.
The women's component of the Middle Verbano Local Committee
The women's component of the Local Committee of the Middle Verbano was born in 2003 thanks to the will of a(still) small number of members.
Ms Brunella Claudia became inspector,assisted in her duty by the vice Inspectors Ms Nadia Vanetti and Sparvier Cinzia that are committed in organizing events in order to get known and to raise funds.
Their work proceeds with varying success until the elections of September 2005 when a change is implemented in the management of the Gavirate Red Cross which turns from delegation status to Local Committee of the Middle Verbano.
The women's section changed its looks too; it has renewed and it returned operational on its field.
Since then it has always been present,at the side of the VDS and CRI nurses,with its social assistance and cultural diffusion work ;it is also engaged in the supply of useful funds and materials-very important activity that enhances the ability to respond to the increasingly urgent requests of help.
CNF has organized and promoted various events to raise funds while promoting the culture of the principles underlying the Italian Red Cross.
CNF serves the teritorry and strives to maintain a fruitful dialogue and collaboration for the achievement of its goals.
