Health Education
Our Local Committee is engaged in spreading to the population the principles of health education. For this reason, the medical and nursing staff, monitors and technical staff identified by the Health Director and the Head Physician of Education,hold first aid courses targeted to students of schools of all levels and to general population.
Promoting health education contributes at forming greater awareness and skills when dealing with illness and emergency situations but the primer contribution is that of spreading a basic health knowledge aimed to promote health and its maintenance.
Following this line of thought, the Local Committee of the Middle Verbano has developed and promoted a campaign, "Project Health", to offer the people, through conventional relations with some municipalities of the Middle Verbano, a periodic presence of the CRI staff available to provide information on the prevention of cardiovascular disease and to measure blood pressure and blood chemistry parameters (glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides).
Other important opportunities to promote and conduct health education activities are represented by the funds collecting campaing for the Local Committee, demonstrations of First Aid, the annual Festival of the Local Committee,etc.
